Who doesn’t love a good snickerdoodle cookie!
One of our family favorites- whip up a batch ASAP!
Preheat your oven to 375⁰. Add the following ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment.
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
With medium speed; aerate for 3-4 minutes. While doing that, place the following dry ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
- ¼ teaspoons salt
With the mixer turned down on low, add the dry ingredients only until just incorporated.
In another bowl combine approximately 2 Tablespoons sugar with 2 tablespoons good cinnamon (you can eyeball this!) Using medium cookie scoop (#40) scoop dough into balls and roll into cinnamon/ sugar mixture- place on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes. These cookies should be a light golden brown- they will raise and crack. A great cookie for dunking as they tend to harden quickly.
This is by far my favorite cookie. I make these for Christmas for anyone that I know from this recipe and is a good to anytime I have a little time to bake and a sweet tooth. Happy it is on the blog so I didn’t need to call you for it every time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
