How to Sew a Face Mask with 18” Ties

Hello to everyone!

Who would have thought a virus could disrupt so many things! Our son Tyler and his beautiful bride to be would have been married today…. it’s all good, we are going to have one heck of a party come July!

Yesterday I stood and looked at 3 beautiful little dresses I made meant to be worn today. Somehow with a wink & a prayer I’ll be able to configure these to be worn in 4 months.

In the meanwhile I felt so compelled to try to use my talents for all the incredible people on the frontline of this COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you to our Nurses (my daughter Allie ♥️) Doctors, First Responders and everyone in the medical field.

With that said I’ve done my first tutorial for a face mask with 18” ties. I’m aware there is an elastic shortage, so this pattern does not call for it.

Calling all seamstresses, please watch my video for step by step instructions to help you take on a project that will truly make a difference. Love & God bless, Teri

4/9/20 -This video was intended on showing you how to sew a mask, not cutting techniques. This is my first tutorial and I am self taught trying to help the pandemic situation not ever intending for anyone to hurt themselves with the way that I use a rotary blade. I’m having no luck in uploading an updated video- I will continue to try. In the mean while please continue to uplift each other.

  1. Thank you for taking time to make this very thorough and detailed video for such an important project. I have shared it with relatives who are sewing for our local healthcare facilities. I am hoping to be able to start sewing soon

  2. Thank you for sending a mask all the way to California to help keep me safe! ❤️

    1. Miss Emily- praying perfect protection over you as you battle the front lines, Love auntie Teri ♥️

  3. I saw your Sisterscape Quilt on Pinterest. It is so gorgeous. I am trying to find a copy of the pattern to buy but it is out of print. Any idea how I might be able to get a copy of the pattern?
