Happy 10th Anniversary Mama Carp & Company!

Ten years?!! I am so proud & excited! Hard to believe ten years ago I wrote my first post, so much has happened since then…

All three of our kids got married giving us three new amazing kids to love! All three couples have given us 4 incredible grand loves! two girls and two boys! Through all of this were some pretty amazing parties- I have had so much fun with every single celebration!

March 3rd 2020 I started a new venture of becoming a Surface Pattern Designer…not being a student for many years I wasn’t sure how I was going to fare. That morning Craig called me right before I was to log in and told me the news that his mom had died. I can honestly say that God blessed me with the most incredible mother in law ever. I was blessed to call her mine and as hard as it was to know she was gone my heart was so happy that she was running free and dancing up a storm with Dick- what a reunion that must have been! Today would have been her 100th birthday , so happy birthday to my sweet girl! My hope is that I will leave an indelible impression that lasts far beyond my time here on earth like miss Marge has!

So… as I was immersed in a whole new adventure covid had hit and Ty & Laura’s wedding was called off 2 weeks before their date.. Somehow I kept plugging along… usually I pick up on things pretty quick but this was different. I ended up finishing the course only to do it all over again. So much was going on in the world, it was just really hard for me to put it all together. Ty & Laura (after 4 wedding dates) did get married and all I can say it that it was just so special as we celebrated here at the house- so incredible! I have so many posts to catch up on but seriously the first two need to be Allie & Jareds wedding along with Tyler & Laura’s.

Last october the fam all got covid. November 4th I ended up in the hospital with covid pneumonia. 4.5 days… so many powerful things happened at that time. Never do I want to experience that again, I was truly blessed with so may peoples love & prayers. I was told multiple times to “have grace”… that it would take up to three months to recover. I can safely say I know what it feels like to be 104 years old! By day 3 at home I was able to sit at my computer and decided I was going to succeed in my new adventure … things finally started going my way! I spent my recovery time lost in my artwork fully determined to get it together! Two and a half months later I was back to myself! I had started working out and started finishing new collections! Forever thankful for Craig & the kids throughout all of it!

Mama Carp & Company… well, the word company finally became very meaningful throughout this! I always thought of it as my supporting family but what I didn’t know was how much they would end up playing such a vital part! My Allie is my greatest & valued critic, she is a natural art director and improves & approves all of my work with her advisements, I adore working with her! She even named my Christmas collection “Home for the Holidays”. I wanted to do something special with my newest daughter Laura, she is a special education teacher with her masters and I call on her as my word smith- “Teacher Tribe” was the result of our first work together! Then my oldest Chelsie… this had to have been the most busiest year of her life and yet she took the time to construct me a brand new website! It is so beautiful and I am so grateful for her knowledge. We launched the new website this last September 8th, 2022 with not only a beautiful website, but SIX collections and a store!! We were also able to transfer over 10 years of my writing- sadly 62 posts had to be pieced back together… with the new format we did the best we could for now – eventually I will be able to go back and polish them up…

For now, today I am so grateful. I am finally able to create freely, sew up samples that go to my littles, make coordinating products to sell in my store and keep going ahead on this new adventure. God led me to this and excited to see where he’s taking me. Thank you for all the love and support this last ten years and CHEERS to what’s to come, love & blessings!!!!! Mama Carp
