I am over the moon excited today to feature my Daughter Chelsie’s very first post here on Mama Carp!
After the new siding and windows were installed we stood back and were thrilled to see the exterior transformation of a house that needed some love. Yet, my dad still wasn’t impressed. It was missing something… shutters. He called me and explained in depth the importance of adding them to our home because it would make it, As cute as a bug’s ear. I’m still unsure of where he got that line from and have yet to actually see a bug’s ear… but if it is really as adorable as our little house became, then he is completely right. I am a quilter that loves batiks and paper piecing, so when I saw this gorgeous pattern by Valeri Wells I knew I had to make it. She designed it for their 2006 Sisters outdoor quilt show as a raffle quilt. It was inspired by the landscape around Sisters, Oregon. Pattern can be purchased through The Stitchen’ Post.
I will always believe that home made gifts are the very best. You know that the person that made it for you took the time to really think about what is special to you and trust me, you can’t go to a store and get the same results.
